32 Card Poker

GAME PLAY

  • The Sitdown - Due to the stripped deck, only 5 are allowed to play.
  • 32 card poker is played with a stripped deck of 32 cards by discarding the all the 2's, 3's, 4's, 5'sand 6's from the pack.
  • In Poker the Dealer never plays instead a round plastic disc called 'The Button' moves around the table clockwise from player to player starting from the first player to the immediate left of the House Dealer.
  • Before every round of play begins the button is shifted to the next player on the left to indicate the dealer for that round. A player is said to be 'on the button' if he is the dealer for the round of play. All players must post their mandatory bets known as Antes and the Small Blind is posted by the player to the immediate left of the button, the Big Blind is posted by the player to the left of the Small Blind.
  • The dealer deals out five cards to each player, faced down.
  • Once the dealer has dealt five cards to each player the first betting round commences.
  • If players choose to play the hand they must either 'Call' i.e. they must bet an amount equal to the Big Blind or 'Raise' i.e. bet an amount higher than that of the Big Blind.
  • If a player chooses not to play the hand he may 'Fold' i.e. he mucks or throws away the hand.
  • After all bets are in each player may choose up to 4 replacement cards or may choose to stand pat (stay with his original cards) if he senses he has made the strongest hand.
  • After the round of betting is, each player staying in the hand may receive up to four new cards. If you feel you can't add to your hand, you can choose to stand pat and accept no further cards.
  • Thereafter another round of betting starts.
  • Similar to the first round once all betting is complete player are allowed to draw cards again.
  • This is followed by a final round of betting after which players move to a showdown where they reveal their hand to determine the best hand and hence the winner.

BETTING STRUCTURE

  • In 32 card poker there are essentially 2 rounds of betting.
  • The Small Blind is posted by the player to the immediate left of the button.
  • The Big Blind is posted by the player to the immediate left of the Small Blind.
  • Once the dealer has dealt five cards to each player the first betting round commences.
  • If players choose to play the hand they must either 'Call' i.e. they must bet an amount equal to the Big Blind or 'Raise' i.e. bet an amount higher than that of the Big Blind.
  • If a player chooses not to play the hand he may 'Fold' i.e. he mucks the hand.

WINNING A POT

  • A player may win the pot if he has the bet possible hand.
  • If a player is the only player in the pot and all other players have folded.
  • A pot may split if all players agree to a split pot.

WINNING HANDS

The winning hands in 32 card poker are pretty much the same as Texas Hold'em the only difference being that a Flush beats a Full house This is due to the fact that the difficulty of scoring a flush is higher due to the shortened deck.
